season 1 episode 1 introduction

Episode 1 “pokemon i choose you”

the episode starts with two pokemon battling in a stadium in front of a big crowd the pokemon are Gengar (a ghost type) vs Nidorino (a poison type) the battle isn’t close and the trainer recalls Nidorino and sends out an Onix (a rock/ground type) watching this battle at home is a 10 year old kid Ash Katchum who is getting ready to start his journey as a pokemon trainer 10 year olds can start travelling the world collecting pokemon and training them. His mother tells him to go to bed but he says he can’t sleep she shows him a video of the local professor professor oak explaining the starter pokemon Bulbasaur (the grass type), Charmander (the fire type) and squirtle (the water type). He dreams about using all three in battle and oversleeps and rushes to professor oaks lab in his pjs once there he runs into his old rival Gary Oak (Grandson of the professor as well) with his starter he doesn’t say which one it is. Ash then heads in with professor oak and when he tries to pick a starter there all gone he instead gets a Pikachu who almost immediately was disobedient and keeps attacking Ash when they head out a small crowd cheers him off. He drags Pikachu for a while but eventually unties it he tries to work things out with Pikachu without much success he encounters a flying pokemon Pidgey and tries to catch it but fails and Pikachu won’t battle it he tries a lot of things and accidently hits a Spearow with a rock a stronger flying type and suddenly he and pikahu are on the run from it they are forced into the water where they are fished out by a girl who guides the wounded Pikachu and Ash to the hospital in viridan city ash steals her bike to get there quicker Pikachu sees Ashs bravery and saves him from the Spearow. They wake up just before viridian city and they see a rainbow flying pokemon  they than head into viridan city which ends the episode.
