After a roller coaster first fortnight Richmond were out to prove themselves while Brisbane are out to get a rare win at the home of the footy. The match was close early with Richmond up by 1 point at 1/4 time Brisbane got an early lead in the second with the game still tight of only 3 points at 1/2 time Richmond than blew Brisbane away with a 8 goal third quarter to two and at 3/4 time the margin was 34 points. Brisbane made a bit of it up but fell 22 points short.

After mixed results these sides were out with a. After a horrible first fortnight of losing by a combined 145 points few thought the Roos could do that bad again well they did after starting well leading by 4 points at 1/4 time after leading by 13 early in the quarter Sydney than starting to gain momentum leading by 14 points at 1/2 time the Roos still had a hope at 3/4 time although Sydney’s lead had doubled then the Roos collapsed with only one last quarter goal to 10 Sydney move on top of the table with a massive 80 point win.

The dockers looked like they would not lose another close one but early neither side could kick goals with hawthorn up by 4 points at 1/4 time the hawks kicked 5 goal to two second quarter to lead by 21 points at 1/2 time freemantle reverses it in the third cutting the lead to 9 points at 3/4 time. But the hawks kicked both last quarter goals to win by 23 points.
