Before 5 goals to 1 in the second quarter gave Essendon dominance leading by 6 goals at 1/2 time Sydney just couldn’t catch a break in the third as Essendon blew them away to a 55 point lead at 3/4 time before Sydney cut it slightly at the end of the game to 47 points.

Brisbane than kicked a bit inaccurate slowly gave the bulldogs an extended 28 point lead at 3/4 time. They than run away with it the bulldogs with a 6 goal to 2 last quarter to win by a massive 53 points hurting the lions hopes.

St Kilda didn’t provide a bit resistance in the last as port won by 64 points.

Freemantle than had all the running in the third combine with inaccuracy from West coast the scores were level at 3/4 time. Freemantles hopes of a drought breaker ended with a last quarter collapse in defence allowing west coast to run out 24 point winners.
