This is the fifth generation Yu-gi oh anime I’ll explain as I go but it is based on the popular card game a few characters have appeared in the three previous generations but the characters are mostly new to the series
Season 1 episode 1 “swing into action part 1”
The series begins with two people dueling which is the battling using the cards gong is dueling Yuya who gets sidetracked trying to dueltain a variation on the word entettain when he uses the spell hippocarnival (one of Yuyas main monsters is a hippo) it causes Zuzu (yuyas best friend) to break the system annoying Zuzus dad who runs the duel school (which is named Yusho after yuyas missing dad and great dueltainer who disappeared three years ago). A man named nico smiley then enters who is a promoter who wants Yuya to duel the number one duelling pro the sledgehammer Yuya is reluctant as is zuzus dad (skip) who changes his mind when nico reveals there’s money involved Yuya disappears nervous about the duel on the day of the duel Yuya dresses up as a clown before showing himself the duel starts with Yuya summoning preformerpal hip hippo his go to monster while the sledgehammer uses battling bohemaths that give him an edge and defeats most of yuyas monsters when Yuya is about to give up suddenly something happens changing. A few of his cards and than all of sudden summons three monsters in a way that no one had seen ending the episode.
