i am starting to write about old australian news that made the newspapers in melbourne (thanks to the state library of victoria for giving me the links and newsbank (i think) for publishing them) this is more of a summary and my modern take on the issues they do. i will also be doing sometimes a write up on the current issues of the day as well but this won’t be under the same title.
this is from both the hearld sun and the age the storie sources just for ballance. only stories that i find interesting will get mentioned.
the reason i picked this date is it is right in the middle of grand final week 2002 of the afl with simon black winning the brownlow medal the night before there is a lot of stories on that. with the unlucky port midfiedler josh francon who has his carrer runied by injury finished four votes behind him.
as the victorian election was coming up (some people wish it was now) they talk about the issues about the eastern freeway which is creating problems for the bracks goverenment.
john howard the pm of the time is in trouble with an international incident with zimbawe which in my opinion you gotta be careful on what you say and freedom of speech should be restricted to avoid hurting peoples feelings to the point of succide.

adeliade city threaten to pull out of the nsl mounths before it happened at least it happened not during this season.
germanys election was record close but it looks like schroder got back,
