9 teams leave yokosuka japan for lijiang china first they must take a provided flight to kunming and than book their own tickets to lijiang the first stop is a river. the flight leaves at 950am. the season 14 teams aren’t happy to be going back to china. kynt/yvxsin start their day badly by having trouble finding their car than go the completly the wrong way once in their car. all the other teams have no trouble getting to the airport but kent/yvxsin (i just realised i was using the name he went under in season 12) miss the required flight getting very lost and end up 6 hours behind with the flights (and will probably be penalised) other teams wonder where they went. as mentioned they get another flight 6 hours later. in kunming the teams decide to take a train to lijiang instead of the morning flight (kent/yvxsin have to take a morning flight at 7am). ron and christina get the first train at 850pm while the other teams (except kent/yvxsin take the 1016pm. the first train arrive at 538am ron/christina decide to get a snack before going to jade dragon mountain where the van doesn’t leave till 8am catching up all the teams but kent/yvxsin. the mountain is over 10000 feet high. the next clue is getting their photo taken riding a yak not too hard accross a course. the next clue sends them to the top of the mountain by cable car to 14783 feet to a place called spruce meadow. jamie/cara are 1st at this point but they are all close. the altitude effected teams the roadblock is ordering the chinese zodiac animals after finding them in a meadow area. it is not too hard if you don’t get a duplicated animal (which zev does). kent/yvxsin continue to close the gap slowly. Mallory finishes 1st the next clue sends them back to lijiang and the old town by marked bus (ron/christina get out of the wrong bus when they get on and share with the globetrotters). some teams see kent/yvxsin going up the gondola on the way down. zev losses a lot of time by missing one of the animals making it a showdown between him and yvxsin. kent/yvxsin don’t tell zev/justin about the possible penalty they will get. the next task must put a wish on their chinese zodiac sign thing (the globetrotters waste a lot of time guessing). the detour is either “hammer” hammering candy in a certain way or “horn” carrying a heavy horn and a band through the streets. Most teams choose hammer (except zev/justin and the globetrotters) (jamie/cara choose it origianlly but switch). finally zev realises he has two goats and no horse. ron is distracted by fish he sees on the way to the detour. kent/yvxsin (the goths) struggle with the zodiac task putting them in a bad spot but they do finish. margie/luke and the cowboys finish equal 1st at the detour going to the eternal tower with gary/mallory and keisha/jen just behid the pit stop or so it seems. the delay in switching detours put jamie/cara behind the globetrotters it is a close race for 1st but margie/luke win the leg and are given a trip to aruba but are told its a fake pit stop and they are still racing. kent and yvxsin make another mistake leaving their bag on the gondola and have to go back and get it but won’t be eliminated.
