kent and yvxsin get their missing bag at the top of the gondola. the next clue sends them back to kunming china to find a flower market and warns of a double u-turn the train to kunming doesn’t leave till 705pm evening the teams. kent and yvxsin do the hammering detour before going to the fake pitstop mentioned in the previous episode but will get a 30 minute penalty at the pitstop. kent/yvxsin decide to keep the penalty secret. the globetrotters, cowboys and keisha/jen play basketball watched by most of the teams as they wait for the train. while teams wait they ask questions about what happened and they lie. they all take the same train. the language barrier as usual is an issue in china which gives ron/christina a home advantage not that it will help. the clue at the fire market sends them to a golden horse and jade cock arch (not a mcdonalds golden arches). the cowboys accidentally take the globetrotters cab putting the globetrotters behind. the next clue is a detour “honor the past” is watching a preformance and than ordering dolls that resemble people from the preformance “embrace the future” is setting up a solar heating system and than install it. ron/christina zev/justin work together they along with keisha/jen choose honor the past most other teams choose the solar pannels. the outfits for the honor the past detour are weird. gary/mallory fall behind only ahead of the cowboys in getting the detour clue. the detours aren’t much difference in difficulty but the dolls are slightly quicker zev/justin get the clue 1st to a heritage center where the double u-turn is but the teams who do the dolls have a lot of trouble finding the u-turn even with christina knowing chinese. the globetrotters bad luck with cabs continues putting them behind on the way to the solar pannels. margie/luke are first to finish the solar pannels. gary/mallory are the only other team to choose the dolls. some teams go to the wrong place lead by ron/christina. margie/luke get to the u-turn first and don’t u-turn the next clue sends them to the stone forrest. gary/mallory continue to trail only ahead of the globetrotters gettting the detour clue. the cowboys somehow are 2nd to the u-turn and don’t use it but crictically tell kent/yvxsin where just ahead of jamie/cara . so kent/yvxsin u-turn jamie/cara (probably the least threatening team but they didn’t want to repeat what happened in season 12) who aren’t happy but u-turn the globetrotters. the stone forest is also hard to find with the language barrier. finding the stone forest mixes the order to the point that the u-turned teams aren’t the bottom 2 (even though the globetrotters were last at almost all the clues so far) and jamie/cara have their cab get fuel. gary/mallory decide to follow zev/justins cab. keisha/jen are first to the roadblock of making a dinosaur model there is a diagram that most teams (except the cowboys) ignore if it is unsafe the palentologist stops them. ron/christina are 2nd to the roadblock just ahead of margie/luke. Margies assembling skills are again on show but some teams really struggle at the task. yvxsin admits to the penatly to the other waiting contestants at the roadblock. somehow the globetrotters pass jamie/cara on the way to the roadblock (due to the gas stop). the cabs are driving several teams insane. jets strategy with going back to the diagram makes him do it really quickly. at the back of the pack gary/mallory use the express pass on the roadblock moving them from level 8th (with zev/justin) to 1st to finish the task. the pit stop is green lake park the dinosaurs continue to give teams difficulty. the cowboys are 1st to get a cab from the roadblock (Even before gary/mallory) and get to the pit stop 1st winning them 5000 dollars each. margie does well at the roadblock but some teams struggle still. Kent gets injured during the task which will effect their performance later in the race. keisha finishes next just before kent (the goths pass them on the way to the pit stop but there penalty makes that redundant but nott enough to send them home) big easy finishes next well before chrstina (who was 2nd there). christina and justin both beat jamie at the roadblock after a long time (especially in christinas case) at the roadblock. jamie/cara are eliminated for the 1st time in their race history.
