5 teams depart cochin india for chinadur india and a temple getting a greating from a head preist. brendon/rachel know rachel/dave are the biggest competition while art/jj and vanessa/ralph they don’t get along with. vanessa/ralph always race if they are in last place they get a cab before art/jj (well a rickshaw). bopper/mark are over 3 hours behind and mark is not well so the odds of them making time up is slim. the next clue contains a fastforward and also sends teams to a matting place whatever that means. the fastforward is an ancient hindu ritual so brendon/rachel go for it but find out it is head shaving so abandon it (it is a switchback to season 7). vanessa/ralph don’t attempt the fastforward. amazingly vanessa/ralph are 1st to the roadblock which is a very physical task of spinning rope using coconut husk ralph takes the roadblock but it is not that easy dave takes the roadblock. art takes the roadblock as well. bopper/mark still haven’t left the pitstop. making 40 feet of rope is hard. brendon takes the reoadblock. jj doesn’t think its smart that teams aren’t doing the fastforward. dave gets a good lead for his team but the rest of the task is still tricky but not impossible. the hand crank was tricky and easy to get hurt. rachel is worried that they will be out not getting the fastforward. the next clue which vanessa/ralph get 1st sends them to a fort but than vanessa gets hurt. dave gets the clue in 2nd for him and rachel. jj is worried that bopper/mark going for the fastforward and says that they should have. rachel is upset about being in last place although they are not too far behind. bopper/mark finally leave the pitstop for their speed bump. the detour is “pacadyrum” requires teams to dress up an elephant and than transport manure to a nearby truck. “pack a box” take part in the indian spice trade and fill the boxes with ginger and than deliver them. rachel/dave and vanessa/ralph choose the elephants which is the easier task brendon/rachel get it ahead of art/jj and choose the elephants the guys choose the pack a box. bopper/marks speed bump is just painting a belly of a tiger dancer not too hard. vanessa is over excited about doing the elephants. art/jj find the pack the box task hard. rachel/dave are doing well at the elephant part and move onto the manure with a lead but argue over how full the wheelbarrow is. art/jj aren’t doing well at the detour. rachel/dave are way ahead on the wheelbarrows and finish 1st despite the other co-ed pairs closing the gap. vanessa is succspicious of brendon/rachel on the barrowls. bopper/mark go for the fastforward after finishing the speedbump after saying the word roulette instead of ritual. rachel/dave get the pitstop clue in 1st sending them by ferry to a fishing nets place. rachel/dave win their 6th 1st place finish and win10000 dollars each. there is a confrontation between brendon/rachel and vanessa/ralph over the detour barrols but there is no penalty. art/jj beat bopper/mark the 2nd team ever to be eliminated after getting the fast forward.
