4 teams depart indonesia for tokyo japan and a temple with ceremaic cat statues. the flights arrive at 610am or 620am one via hong kong or via bangkok. jason/amy book the 620am flight due to the 610am being full at the time. tim/marie get a 620am arrival as does nicole/travis and the 3 coed pairs have to work together and form an alliance. leo/jamal find a way of getting on the 610am arrival. leo/jamal are the only ones to get on the 610 arrival. leo/jamal are 1st out of the airport while the other teams argue over the limited cabs and tim/marie are the only ones who have the address but eventually work it out. the next clue is a detour of ‘knock it down’ which is a weird japanese game show task. ;call it up’ the other choice is doing c call in a water tank. tim/marie choose knock it down as does leo/jamal the other teams end up doing call it up. knock it down is a weird human bowling game which involves knocking over all the pins and its quite tricky getting the momentum and is quite hard. navigating tokyo is quite tricky and the tricky bit is only two teams can do call it up at a time. tim/marie stick with knock it down but need to find it. call it up teams have to hear a saying and repeat it exactly. leo/jamal finish the detour in 1st place and are sent to a fountain in shinjuku. the call it up detour is exhausting as you have to be ini cold water and underwater. the saying is not that hard jason/amy get it 2nd while nicole/travis are 3rd. tim/marie are still struggling at the bowling once they get there but get it eventually but still in last. leo/jamal get to their speed bump which requires them to capture a fake rhino. nicole/travis see the afghanimals before they start the roadblock which nicole, amy, marie and leo have to do which is engineering a robot. leo keeps going back to the model while tim/marie finally show up in last and marie can’t see the model. jamal doesn’t think teams should be working together on the roadblock. marie makes up time and acctually gets the lead. leo is wrong on his first guess. as does nicole and amy as travis is getting frustrated. marie gets it first amazingly sending them to find a vending machine in the shibuya scramble crossing. amy finally realises where the mistake is and gives nicole the answer. the pitstop is a shrine from season 15 where the final elimination will be. leo is almost completly out of it at this point. tim/marie win and a trip to aruba. jason/amy are 2nd to get the pitstop clue. nicole beats leo at the roadblock but its still close. but nicole/travis beat leo/jamal sending the guys home.

the finale continues and they are sent to juneau alaska and to a harbour they are on the same flight. we find out that marie made a deal with a 60/40 split with tim on prizes. there is a fight for cabs at the airport which puts tim/marie behind but not by much as they get on boats. the next clue is the last roadblock of doing a supply drop from a bush plane and have to hit a target. nicole, amy and marie do the roadblock. only amy gets it on te 2nd attempt no one gets it first time. the next clue sends them by helicopter to a glacier and than climb it and then chip out a clue. the other teams can’t hit a target though jason/amy have a good lead the other teams are quite behind. marie gets it next. jason/amy are doing well at climbing extending thier lead mostly as tim/marie show up nicole still can’t hit the target but get it eventually. jason/amy are still ahead at this point as nicole/travis show up. the clues aren’t in all of them. jason/amy are sent to a marked island by kayak. tim/marie are still 2nd to get the marked island clue. the next clue is sending them to a trailhead by helicopter and taxi. the next task is remebering the currencies of the countries they visited for their final clue. tim/marie catch up to jason/amy. but its close still as nicole/travis start. jason/amy finish 1st sending them to the finish line end of north douglas highway and win the million ahead of tim/marie and nicole/travis in that order.

next time another all-star season not really as they are bringing back the country singers (caroline/jennifer) and a few annoying teams but also fan favourites like the cowboys, globetrotters, joey/meaghen, brandon/rachel and margie/luke. as well with limited break the afghanimals.
