7 teams stay in sri lanka. the first clue sends them to the colombo dutch museum which isn’t open till the morning dave says connor is the most capable person. the next clue sends them by train to alpa and a petrol station (back when petrol was plentiful in sri lanka). they are all on the same train. the next clue is a roadblock of filing certain colored tuktuks with fuel. rachel does the roadblock but misunderstands the clue filing any green colored one not the marked ones. jamal, dave, john, big easy, cord and caroline. most teams see the stripes on the tuk tuks. dave acts as a traffic cop trying to make sure his get through. john and dave have to negotiate spots in the line. rachel is still wrong with the clue. the globetrotters are 1st to get the clue sending them to an elephant place by train but they all end up on the same train (despite rachel almost costing her the spot). the rivaliry between the afghanimals and the cowboys is heating up. the next clue is a detour of “trunk” requires teams to help elephants transport logs to a truck only 4 teams can choose it. “sheets” teams must make paper out of elephant dung. leo/jamal jet/cord jessica/john and dave/connor do trunks the other teams have to do sheets. the cowboys and afghanimals are neck and neck in the lead only increasing how much leo/jamal want to win. the sheet detour is much harder than the other one. jessica impresses on the logs as she is the only girl doing the task. the cowboys are 1st to finish the detour sending them to a rest house to find a person playing music the afghanimals are close behind though. jessica/john are next to finish the detour with the globetrotters are 1st out of the sheets behind dave/connor. the pitstop is mount lavinia. it is close between the rival teams for first. brendon/rachel lead the country singers out of the detour but are at the back of the pack. dave/connor and the globetrotters cab drivers are brothers this leads to the globetrotters going the wrong way. traffic doesn’t help the race for first but the afghanimals win their first leg ahead of the cowboys by seconds and win a trip to berlin germany. another footrace for 3rd sees jessica/john beat dave/connor (who help send the globetrotters back). the country signers though never catch up but its a non-elim leg.
