7 teams depart sri lanka for rome italy (they are told the eternal city) and hadrians bridge (rachel thinks etihopia). they are all on the same direct flight leaving at 120am arriving 750am. brendon/rachel jessica/john carroline/jennifer and leo/jamal are at the front of the plane so get the first bus to the terminal giving them a lead. the next clue is a detour of “gladiator” teams must learn the sword skills needed to fight a gladiator learning the manuveuers for a clue. “chariotteer” is racing remote control wooden horses to receive their clue. jessica/john choose gladiator all the other teams choose the other one. caroline/jennifers speed bump is before the detour of teams finding the pantheon and delivering a type writer to a place. the charioteer task is about speed and avoiding other teams horses which is tricky. jessica does better than john at the gladiator task as john takes more attempts. leo/jamal switch detours while dave/connor form a rivaliry with brendon/rachel during the task. jessica/john are 1st out of the detour the next clue is sending them to piazza john keites but some teams go to via john keetes (the acctual stop is the spannish steps). brendon/rachel jet/cord and dave/connor finish the detour next. the globetrotters get it next. leaving the country singers at the chariot task while the afghanimals are doing the other one. brendon/rachel get the next clue 1st which is a roadblock of suming up the spannish steps brendon does the task with confusing conversions to roman numerals. the afghanimals are now in last. dave/connor figure it out as does the country singers. other teams can’t figure it out at all jessica/john go to a hotel to find out. rachel lies to dave/connor about the clue location but points them in the right direction (Dave is doing the task). brendon gets it first sending them to the pitstop the pizza del popolo. as more teams are very lost brendon/rachel win the leg and a trip to australias great barrier reef. jennifer is doing the task and works with dave on the task jumping from 6th to 3rd. they both get it quickly as the cowboys arrive jet is doing the task. flight time is doing the roadblock and is struggling. jet gets it with locals help and finishes 4th. jamal and john are doing the roadblock in the back of the pack. jamal gets it next and shares the answer agreeing to not u-turn them or beat them. the globetrotters have a small lead over jessica/john due to getting the postcard again and it seals one of the last likable teams fate.
