pokemon season 1 episode 1 “pokemon i choose you”

i am restarting my pokemon anime write ups from the begining.

“pokemon i choose you” season 1 episode 1

in a big arena a gengar battles a nidorino with the laters attacks being not effective as they are normal type moves and loses tohypnosis so the trainer brings out onix we find out ash is watching the battle on tv who is a 10 year old who is about to begin his pokemon journey and wants to become a pokemon master. his mum tells him to get to bed but ash doesn’t want to sleep his mum puts on a video where professor oak explains the starters bulbasaur charmander and squirtle. ash than dreams of which one he will pick but ends up oversleeping despite a dodrio speaking at this point he realises he has broken his alarm clock and has overslept. when he gets to oaks lab he runs into his old rival gary oak who already has chosen his starter (which we won’t know for over 200 eps which it is) gary is already arraogent. as gary leaves ash is upset and proffessor oak turns up ash asks him for a pokemon but they are all gone as ash is very late (he would have picked squirtle if on time). ash insists on a pokemon and gets a pikachu an electric type pokemon who shocks ash immediately and again when he gets his pokedex and pokeballs. ash’s mum and some locals are there to see ash off after getting some supplies from his mum (who is supprised that pikachu is his starter and calls it weird so they get shocked). ash and pikachu than leave pallet town with pikachu tied up but ash unties it eventually in an attempt to make friends with it and finds it not all pokemon are put in pokeballs. ash than sees a pidgey (a flying type) and ash wants to catch it but pikachu won’t battle it or listen to ash. ash fails to catch it as it hasn’t been damaged and is laughed at by pikachu so ash tries some unconventional methods to get it but that doesn’t work either due to gust and sand attack being used against him he also loses some food to a rattata (a normal type). ash tries throwing a rock at the pidgey doesn’t work but on the 2nd attempt he hits a different flying type a spearow which is not as calm as a pidgey and it attacks ash and pikachu (because of jealousy according to the pokedex). pikachu shocks spearow but the spearow than calls for its flock so ash and pikachu try and run away from it. pikachu gets hurt by constact peck attacks ash tries to carry it to safety and jumps in the water encountering some other pokemon on the way meanwhile a girl (misty) is fishing and gets ash and pikachu and tells them about the pokemon center to heal pikachu in the nearby city (viridan) ash than takes mistys bike which angers her. in a storm ash struggles to get away from the spearow after crashing the bike it looks all over but pikachu uses thunder shock powered by the storm finishes off the spearow luckily. ash and pikachu are hurt but ok the bike is destroyed ash and pikachu than see a mysterious flying pokemon (a hooh) flying over the rainbow.

next time the pokemon center is under attack will pikachu be healed in time.
