in viridan city the police officer (officer jenny) reports that there are pokemon theives in the area when she sees ash arriving in town with pikachu still hurt after an argument as jenny thinks ash stole the pikachu ash sorts it out by showiung jenny the pokedex and finding out the other trainers beat him there she takes him to the pokemon center by motorcycle misty sees them now carrying her destroyed bike. meanwhile the real villians team rocket see there faces on a wanted poster and want revenge on the town and get some rare pokemon they are jessie james and meowth (a normal type pokemon). the pokemon center is huge when they get there nurse joy isn’t happy at ash and jennys entrance and asks for a stretcher to get pikachu healed and takes it to the er room after telling ash to be more careful. ash has to wait in the waiting room for pikachu after a few hours decides to ring his mum on the phone who is supprised that ash is in viridian city (ash’s dad who we never see took 4 days to get there). ash is discouraged by what happened after his mum gives him a pep talk. ash than thinks about the legendry pokemon he saw and rings professor oak to discuss it but misidentifies it as a auticuno (a different legendry interestingly arcanine which is not a legendry is on the images). oak tells ash that he bet a million dollars on getting a new pokemon already (he lost the bet). misty than turns up and gets ash to promise to fix the bike but ash tells her about pikachu to convince her to delay the payment she eventually agrees. at this stage nurse joy brings pikachu out and says its better and it will be in the recovery room. officer jenny reveals that team rocket are over the town in a balloon team rocket attack with ekans and koffing (both poision types) they introduce themselves with their motto which they use every ep they appear in pretty much. team rocket don’t want pikachu yet saying they want rare and valuable pokemon and start to annoy ash with their plans. ash joy and misty try and get away to get the pokemon to safety but the power goes off but luckly some pikachu fix it. nurse joy sends the pokeballs to pewter city but team rocket find them forcing them to battle ash tries a pidgey (that gets scared by ekans) a empty one and than rattata (also flees scared) so misty uses her own goldeen (which can’t battle on land). ash tries to get away but crashes the stretcher into the bike so the local pikachu show up and help ash’s attack team rocket meowth is originally ok but than gets shocked with the extra power this sends team rocket blasting off but it destroys the pokemon center in the process. team rocket decide their next goal is to get pikachu. while nurse joy and officer jenny take a look at the damage and luckily the pokeballs got to pewter city ok. ash and misty are now in the viridian forest where they encounter a caterpie ash prepares to catch it.

next time will ash get the caterpie and team rocket begin to go after pikachu.
