an aeromexico dc-9 is approaching lax from mexico in a busy day in lax with a rookie controller monitoring the airspace on a holiday weekend from tijiuna mexico. meanwhile a piper is departing a nearby airport for big bear lake but should be clear of lax on august 31 1986. the airspace is intrdued by a light aircraft a gruman tiger thats not supposed to be there just after the aeromexico enters the airspace which is not supposed to be there. meanwhile the dc-9 prepares to land it gets hit by a shudder and crashes into a community of la it hit the piper no one lives on either plane and several on the ground are killed where the planes crashed the controller leaves his post for the last time. the cause of the colision was the pipers lack of navigation skills and the lack of a transponder or contacting atc the gruman tiger is also critiercised for going off course.
