a boeing 757 is delayed leaving the dominican republic for germany by several hours and the crew are called in at the last miunte and there is mechanical problems with the plane that adds to the delay. the plane leaves after 10pm for the overnight flight the fo gerghan is new to the 757 only flown for it 3 mounths. captain edem has been flying for a long time on the 757. as they takeoff a light rain begins to fall and the airspeed indicators don’t agree they don’t abort the takeoff and start to climb out the speed indicator comes back to life but it is still wrong they start to reduce power for the climbout. they are handed to the main atc center in santo domingo but when they turn the autopilot on they get a string of warnings and the speed on the fos side is slowing down which is right but the captains is indicating too fast and not right. they pop the circut breakers but they still don’t know whats going on the captain decides to slow down creating an immediate stall. the crew fight to save the plane but it becomes inverted and hits the atlantic killing everyone onboard. the cause of the crash is determined to be lack of safety on the pitot tubes that let a bird put its nest into it.
