its the lead up to christmas and we find jessie lying in bed waiting for santa to trap him for some reason but its just a test for the real thing explaining that she had a bad experience with santa earlier thinking jynx a ice type is santa as a result. ash and friends encounter a jynx and wants to catch it battles it with charmander (this ep was made before it evolved but aired after) and finds out that it has a trainer when misty and brock check the boot they find it belongs to santa. so ash and friends decide to return jynx to santa claus after hearing the story. team rocket spot ash and friends with the jynx and decide to steal it. ash and friends decide to use the water types to pull a raft towards the north pole but team rocket follow them. ash takes over polling the raft and almost freezes bu a lapras comes to his rescue that is helping santa and helps them get the rest of the way. team rocket show up to steal the jynx and explain what happened before which they take it to the north pole where they find out that in this world santa is real. santa reveals that the jynx that took jessies doll was only trying to fix it and because she didn’t believe after the incident wouldn’t return it. team rocket try and get away but are stopped by lapras and are sent away by jynxs psywave attack.
