ash is battling brock to prepare for the pokemon league with pikachu battling vulpix with speed attacks but when vulpix uses flamethrower ii unearths some artifacts which a girl named eve claims is from an acient civialisation called pokemopolis (Which even though brock was the one who found it). she decides to escavate the area to find more artifacts but team rocket are watching them we hear about the pokemopolitian people which had been destroyed their home by giant pokemon battling. eve appartently is a child genius appartently but is embarrased about it. the artifacts glow briefly and we see a stone tablet that eve found that warns of the powers of destruction. team rocket try and use arbok to dig out artifacts and find something strange which absorbs team rocket into it a giant gengar which also absorbs some of the scientists. the gengar goes to destroy pallet town ash and his friends try and fight back using their pokemon but it doesn’t work and it absorbs pidgeotto and onix. somehow another giant pokemon a alkazam is woken up and it battles the gengar and its no help at all. the battle looks like it will never end without destruction until jigglypuff becomes big and puts everything to sleep.
next time ash heads for the pokemon league only to face a thief.
