professor oak and ash’s mum are watching ash prepare for the pokemon league while ash registers for the league and finds out that not till the 5th round he will be in the indigo stadium having to get through the preliminaries first at four different fields ash finds out he will battle on te water field first and his first opponent is mandy who had an encounter with team rocket where he embarrases them and nearly blows team rockets cover. misty offers to help ash but he refuses and gary is overconfident as always goes to his first match. professor oak suggests ash swaps pokemon for the battle and ash agrees for krabby to compete and ash’s mum shows a cheering crowd for him ash meets mandy woh is pretty confident. ash is a bit more worried anda refsues help as he finds gary won on the ice field. ash gets a weird encouragement from team rocket before team rocket are taken away. ash uses krabby which upsets mandys executor in a win it than evolves into kingler which beats seadra and golbat to win ash the match. ash over celebrates his win.
