ash sees his mum and profess oak who his mum deciding to suprise ash with a speical meal for making the 5th round and does so at a resturant which embarrases him and we find out in the 6th round you can use up to 6 pokemon. as they catch a lift a trainer named ritchie gets in to the lift later the power goes off and ritchie gets pikachu to fix the power helping them get to the ground floor when an annoucment says all trainers must bring their pokemon to someone for a check which is a scam by team rocket to get all the pokemon which leads to ash finding out ritchie is competiting as well and he and ritchie go after team rocket to get the pokemon back but have to spend the night under the stars before they can they get the pokemon back which they are able to using their pokemon including ritchies butterfree and pikachu all ends well but than ash finds out his next opponent is ritchie.
next time ash is put in an impossible position before his 5th round match.
