ash and friends are on the coast heading for goldenrod city in pampona when they meet a trainer named benny and his wobbofect team rocket are in town when they find out about a trade meet and decide to plan to steal all the pokemon. the first thing ash seees is a tauros battle tornoument so ash sends heracross to professor oak so he can compete which has tauros wins. ash refuses to trade pokemon despite being under preasure to. but team rocket plan to take all the pokemon and james uses the proceeds to buy from the magikarp salesman (from season 1). jessie and benny accidently swap wobbofect for lickutung. it all ends well for everyone except jessie who is confused about getting a wobbofect which can’t attack except using counter and mirror coat (which deflects attacks).
