ash and friends are in a dark forrest when they spot a scientist trying to grab the attention of a shiny noctowl which he wants to catch but ash is also interested in catching it but its hypnosis attack keeps confusing them. the man doctor wiseman wants to catch it as its rare and unusual. they disagaree on strategy but team rocket also want it and try and steal it. noctowl helps ash’s pokemon team up to beat team rocket and ash catches the noctowl.
