the egg hatches into a phanpy which is a ground type but team rocket steal it quickly and phanpy gets scared of pikachu during the battle and meowth has a way of getting phanpy in control but ash ends up getting it anyway and convincing it its good.
next time jessie and james are kicked out of team rocket.
