ash and norman begin their gym battle. with the first match being slakoth v pikachu with the odd strategies of speed v dodging pikachu struggles against slakoth so he switches to torkoal who wins the round. but vigaroth is tougher beating torkoal but pikachu proves tougher and a double knock out. grovyle v slaking is the final match and its close but grovyle wins ash his 5th badge which max steals but norman calms him down and ash gets the badge in the end.
