a young girl named dawn is about to start her journey through sinnoh she wants to be a coordinator but gets lost on the way to the lab in sandgem town and professor rowan finds her and takes her to the lab. but before they get there the piplup and chimchar escape forcing dawn to go and look for them. and dawn is able to get the piplup to listen and bond with her and when they get back she decides for piplup to be her starter after an ariados attack. meanwhile ash pikachu and aipom (the other pokemon are back in pallet town) arrive in sinnoh and pikachu is stolen by team rocket and when team rocket turn on each other ends up quite a bit away from ash.
next time dawn finds pikachu.
