20 americans arrive in palau not yet split into tribes they are forced to race to the beach for individual immunity jonathan and stephenie quickly deicde to swim it and get smashed by the rest of the tribe ian and jolanda win the necklaces (one from each gender). the players bond with each other and a few early alliances are formed and some taken on different roles especially coby and angie. the next day the tribes are picked with the immunity winners picking tribes with two not selected being eliminated.

ulong – jolanda, booby jon, stephenie, jeff, kim, james, ashley, ibraheim, angie
wonda and jonathan were not picked and are sent home.
the immunity necklaces are now useless at this point. the challenge is for reward/immunity ina jungle obstacle course where you only keep the supplies you want ulong take everything big mistkae koprro only take flint and win easily and get immunity and flint. jolandas bossiness puts her on the chopping block while angie fells like an outsider and gets votes but jolanda is voted out 6-3 (bobby jon and ibraheim vote for angie with jolanda)
