ashs battle against paul ends up going badly with megmortars abillity making it hard for pikachu so he switches but loses several pokemon back to back. staraptor buizel go down then after using chimchar briefly gliscor goes down. than pikachu loses to usuraing leaving ash with only chimchar which despite evolving into monfreno can only win one round before ash loses the match.
next time ash struggles to recover from his loss.
