the pies after losing to the lions in round 1 looked very dominant one more loss to the dons in round 14 before finals when everything went wrong losing to the blues in the semi gurranteed a grand final for fininshing 1st but lost to the lions.
premiers summary fitzroy
started with 7 striaght wins and were on track to go back to back a round 8 loss to the pies wasn’t a concern beating the saints the next week but than a poor loss to geelong and a close loss to carlton a late draw with south didn’t cost them 2nd one more loss again to geelong in the odds and evens didn’t cost them 2nd and won against the dons, blues and pies to win the flag their 4th.
