season summary
after a slow start the blues looked like they would be a genuine contender for a 4 peat only losing the pies once after round 4 despite being second on 14 wins behind south on percentage collingwood (12 wins and 2 draws) and essendon (11 wins) rounded outt the 4 edging the dees by half a game with unievrsity (7 wins and 2 draws) also having two draws half a game bheind fitzroy. richmond 6 wins included a stunnning upset over south but the wooden spoon race was controversal with a saints win over the cats overturned giving the wooden spoon to the saints as a result.
interestin gseason university
after a massive upset over the blues they droppped shock loses to tigers and saints before stuninng dons and beating cats but dropped their next 3 to the pies, swans and dees. a upset win over the lions kept them alive but lost to the lbues before back to back wins over tigers and saints had them in the running but their last win was in round 14 over the cats two draws their best result against the pies (they never beat them) saw them finish 7th.
finals summary
blues and swans easily made the grand with them having to play twice due to the swans being first but the blues won the first game the swans though broke the blues run at 3 flags in a row by 2 points to open their premiership account.
premiers season south
started well wining 5 in a row before a shock loss to the tigers their next loss in round 11 to the blues looked in trouble after losnig to lions and pies in rounds 13 and 14 but then won 4 in a row to hold hte lead over the blues after beating the pies in the semi had to win the 2nd final to win the flag over the blues.
