despite a strong start the cats didn’t get to defend their flag finishing 5th with a good percentage the dogs dropped to 7th the dees who had been close finished 9th above hawks lions and saints by one gamewith the hawks recording their 4th wooden spoon even though the lions were last with two games to go. carlton, richmond, collingwood and south (first time in 8 years) Were the 4. north had their best yet 8th.

only beat dees in round 3 saints in round 13 and dogs in round 11 were always near last and finished last.
finals summary
pies beat swans in semi but the tigers and blues earned their grand final spots with the tigers recording their 3rd llag after 5 runners up in 8 years.
interesting season south
started 10-0 after years of irrelevancy but couldn’t keep it up but it took till round 14 loss to the dogs for worries to happen essendon in round 16 their other shock loss the others including the semi were to finalists losing to the pies in the semi.
premiers richmond
their 3rd flag came from 2nd an interestnig year drawing the grand final rematch early on but were always up there 14 and a half home and away wins and two finals over the blues got them there.
