the cats crashed out in straight loses to the tigers and swans (who beat pies in the semi) with the tigers in their 7th grand in 8 years won their 4th flag total and their 2nd in that period getting revenge on the swans for the year before by 39 points.

on top with a game to go only to lose the last game to south and both finals to go out in a prelim after a dominant season other loses were to the dons and blues and drew with pies between rounds 4 and 6 befoer 11 straight wins.
