interesting season essendon
after several poor years the dons returned to form despite an early loss to the blues in round 1 won 6 straight before losing to pies in round 8 dees in round 10 blues again in round 12 and tigers in round 15 knocked blues and tigers out of finals but coudln’t beat dees.
premiers melbourne
again lost in round 1 this time to lions than in round 6 to the dogs blues in round 7 and it looked like they might not get a chance for a 3 peat then 10 straight wins secured them top 2 depsite being on top lost to the blues in the last game to fall to 2nd but got revenge in the semi then beat dons in the grand.
