a back to normal season had all 12 teams with the cats not recovering from their down time to finish last with 1 win. hawks dropped back to 11th with the 4 only chcange was dogs replace blues and lions getting 2nd dons 3rd.
hawthorn summary
an awful slump only beating cats and saints in rounds 3 and 4 and a draw with saints in round 15 saw them finish 11th.
interesting season north
a year after the hawks got 5th the roos had their top half finish 6th with 10 wins inclduing scalps of richmond and acrlton but not remarkable.
finals summary
dogs go out first week again while the lions won the semi leading to a grand against the tigers who beat the dons in the prelim the lions win the grand their 8th and last flag before they merge with brisbane in the 90s.

a strong year losing to tigers in round 4, dogs in round 5, drew with dons in round 9, lose to blues in round 10 and saints in round 12 (biggest shock loss) 8 striaght wins including two finals got them thier 8th and last flag.
