what an interersting finals group hawks overcame a slow start to lead on 14 wins ahead of dees by a game and a half (who had 11 of the 12 flags of the finalists going in) with the saints and dogs on 11 wins rounding out the 4 ahead of lions and cats by half a game roos finished last one game from 9th with pies, tigers and swans all having bad years.

the hawks finally pulled it off beating dees in the semi who lost to the dogs who had a miracle final run ended by the hawks who finally iwn their first flag (before the roos and saints get on the board)

finally breaking a 22 year finals drought losing to blues in round 1, dons in round 2, before 6 straigth wins losing to pies in round 9 lions in round 11, blues in round 12 , cats in ronud 14 kept the tigers goalless in round 16, before lose to hawks in round 17 but lost to dogs in the semi.

for the first time i don’t need to right a seperate premiers and hawks section as they are the premiers losing to swans in round 1, dons in round 5 due to poor kicking saints in round 6, dogs in round 8 before winning a club record 12 straight wins to win the flag.
