professor oak gives her a pokeball she opens it and is given a pikachu as her starter which makes her happy she asks why oak says the other starters were almost all stolen by team rocket and the few that were saved had just been given to other trainers yesterday. she says wants to be as good as ash and that will help her she immediately tries to befriend it and on ash’s advise is able to calm it down. just as they leave the lab her best friend sakira appears to see her off as well as her mum who wish her luck. sakira warns lilash about sakiras brother starting his journey and is told he got an eevee due to the starter shortage. lilash and ash leave pallet.
