in the viridian forest they are resting when they see a pidgeotto trying to etat a weedle so lilash calls for pikachu to shock it and then on ash’s idea catches it. they initally get along but the pidgeotto attacks bug types anytime it sees one which makes it tricky to train but ash decides to help with his own pidgeot who explains that there are limits to its appeitit. lilash uses pidgeotto to help beat a team rocket grunt who appears.
next time more of the forrest.
