airline guide rex

today i am starting a new segment where i describe airlines this is not the same as the airport guide and will include some airlines that don’t exist anymore.

launch date – july 1 2002

country – australia

history – largely a regional airline the airline tried capital city routes for two years but it almost destroyed the airline they traditionally only served the southern states but have expanded into qld and wa in recent years.

hubs – melbourne, sydney, adelaide.

destionations – regional nsw, vic, qld, wa, sa.

routes examples – albury to sydney, wagga to sydney melbourne, dubbo to sydney, broken hill to sydney via dubbo sometimes, burnie to melbourne, moruya to mirimbila to sydney, qld milk runs.

aircraft – saab 340 57 only type they use.

hq are in wagga weirdly enough but are based in sydney.

flight experiences – there should be a review of a 2021 flight from sydney to albury on the blog (and maybe one more recent) haven’t flown them since 2022 they are known for having a sweet or savory snack on their routes complementary with water tea and coffee.
