lyra enters the blackthorn contest and finds it easier to get a good score with her new smoochum but the battle round takes it toll on her but still is able to make the final with her syevlon winning her a spot in the grand fesival. afterwards lika practices against ash for advice on beating dragon types which helps.

Ryder and matilda meet their friend mitch whose with marshall interestingly there aren’t many pups auditiioing in fact only the aviator role is a contest as skye faces off against a pup named sweetie who had a different owner at the time (yes the one thats with the princess in the series) but mayor goodway is reluctant for either of them as only having one female pup to start would not be a good look even zero would be better in her posiiton but doesn’t say anytihng and awards the role to skye on trial on the condition that ryder is the human leader which he had acctually won the audition easily over rockys owener lewis who was worried about being lonely is why he tried ryder asks if the oweners can stay while they settle in mayor goodway says yes but not perminantely overnight but can viist often meanwhile sweeites owner plans revenge.

mayor goodway is getting concerned about the safety of the town and after a trip to a nearby nation where she saw a group of pups doingn rescues she thought she could have the same thing in adventure bay and uses infoirmation from a boy named rydet to set up what the pups will use and live in not knowing that ryder had been preparing to lead a team but hadn’t the abillity to set it up himself. meanwhile in a nearby town ryder gets a call from his best friend matilda who says about the paw patrol auditiions in adventure bay and thought there dogs can try out ryder agrees and asks if there is any information about the human leader she says that will be part of the auditions and knows what roll his pup skye will be best at as they have been practicing.
