twenty players arrive in palau where they are told that its a race to grab individual immunity on the beach won by ian and yolanda (one was for each gender) they then begin working together and early on wanda annoys the players with her signing coby and angie form a friendship as do ian katie tom and stephenie and the next day the tribes are picked by the immunity winners.

the remaining 18 spend time on the beach together before the first challenge as tribes have to choose what supplies to compete for and than carry them through a course yolanda makes ulong take everything but the flint koror only takes the flint koror wins immunity and the flint. facing tribal ulong is split between yolanda (who is strong but bossy) and angie (last picked and a bit socially awakrd) the vote goes against yolanda 6-3 (bobby jon and ibraheim both vote for angie with yolanda),also koror boat capsizes there ok but they lose their flint.
