Fish: Teams had to find a specific fishing trawler. There, they had to manually haul in a full half-mile length of netting that was being fed through a traditional mechanism that would separate all of the fish from the netting. Once all of the netting had been pulled through, teams had to gather up all of the fish and weigh them using a nearby scale. The scale’s needle was missing, however, and could be located inside of their Gnome’s satchel. Using their own empty floating garden, they would have to mix soil and plant all of the given plants so that it matched the example perfectly. At the entrance to this establishment, teams encountered a Roadblock. Who thinks they can fit the mold? The chosen team member would have to follow local traditional methods to make an ornate decorative tile, which have been made at this location since the French colonial days. Teams had to perform all aspects of the tile’s creation themselves, with the exception of operating the large pressing mechanism. This included applying a layer of wax to the mold, an important step that had to be performed before all others, as well as applying paint to form the design and removing the tile from the mold. If their tile had been created properly, they would then take a key from inside of their Gnome’s satchel and use it to open a locked chest. Inside, they would find eight other similar tiles, which would be used as pieces of a sliding puzzle. Once the sliding puzzle had been solved, the tile that teams had created themselves would be inserted into the empty space to complete an image of the Gnome.
