ash and friends are hiking towards mt moon which they are excited about due to a meteor that crashed there in ancient times when they hear a bunch of zubat attacking a scientist so ash uses pikachu to shock them (Which we will discover allowed brock to catch one) the scientist seymour is very happy at being saved which is over the top. seymour explains how the cave is being damaged by people looking for the moonstone putting lights up he is trying to protect the cave. seymour says he thinks pokemon came from outer space atleast clafairy is rumored to and its evolution line. ash and friends see a clafairy which ash wants to catch but seymour stops him as it needs to stay in the mountain when the clafairy encounters meowth of team rocket after the motto they battle ash and brock (team rocket) but meowth runs away to follow the clafairy which gets away with misty and seymour this is where we find brock has a zubat. misty uses her staryu (which makes its debut in this ep) to beat meowth and protect clafairy and than is reunited with ash and brock. brock explains pokemon food to ash which is quite interesting but only good for pokemon. pikachu and clafairy become friends and they find the moonstone as the clafairy pray to the moon stone after an odd scene where ash and friends try and understand the pokemon and figure that out but team rocket turn up and steal the moon stone so ash and friends try and get it back which is not easy but with the clafairys help they are able to get it back and team rocket are sent blasting off again using metronome. ash and friends watch the clafairy evolve into clafable and than say goodbye to seymour. ash and friends near ceruluean city when they encounter a sign that gary wrote on calling ash a loser angering him and sending him running off in anger towards the city.
next time ash battles the cerulean gym or will he as they don’t want to battle.
