ash and friends at the indigo pleatu ready for ash to compete in the pokemon league ash is very excited. ash and friends find the torch relay not realising what it is when they find it it is the torch for moltres and ash wants to carry the torch but gets stopped by officer jenny who says they have to be approved to compete in the tornoument but president goodshow (the head of the pokemon league who looks like santa claus) lets ash carry it. team rocket decide to try and steal the flame by making a hole in the ground and ash has to battle to get it back which he fails but luckily president goodshow has a spare and they are able to keep that lit to the stadium but team rocket lose the flame they had. ash reunites with gary at the pokemon league village but what gary says makes him more nervous and he can’t sleep that night so he goes to the stadium to calm down which mr goodshow helps him with. but as the torch is about to be lit team rocket steal it again but ash battles to get it back which he does because moltres won’t hurt him due to his pure heart and the ceremony finishes without another hitch with team rocket sent blasting off.
next time ash competes in the first round against a trainer who annoys team rocket.
