once again my sources have again given me an episode out of order.
pilgrim airlines flight 458 is a death trap with a fire in the cockpit and must get on the ground quickly. on a short flight in the us a twin otter is doing the flight to boston. at cruising height they start encountering ice before smoke is smelt probably from the anti-ice even though they think its smoking in the cockpit and request to divert to providence rhode island they start heading there but the smoke is already thick and getting worse. they realise that proidvence is probably too far with an off duty flight enginner reporting the damage to the cockpit and communication is lost and head for aresveroir for a crash landing. they do land remarkebly and only one passenger is dead with serious injuries for everyone else. with no blackbox it is hard to find the cause and it looks like its connected to chemical deicing which is the system that caused the fire. but the crew are considered heroes for their efforts.
