at the seafoam isalnds they go into a town and find an old rival of ash’s gary doing research on the auticuno incident and challenges lika to a battle she accepts and its pikachu v umbreon which inspires lyra to try and evolve her eevee lika only narrowly loses the match but isn’t too upset knowing gary is a veteran trainer than she hears some pokemon speach and understands it same with ash.
