“professor elm”
on arrival in newbark town they head to the pokemon center to find it empty so they head for the labatory and find a lost little girl named kris who is looking for a friend of hers that she accused elm of stealing her friend todotile for the lab which confuses them so they head there and find the theives have damaged it but were taken down before they took the pokemon they find professor elm trying to give the same todotile to a trainer but it runs to kris when it sees her leading to an argument as kris is too young to be a trainer yet but elm realises that it will never have a trainer but found that all the todotile have gone missing after the attack and they need more to give to trainers and can’t delay it 4 weeks for the delivery but ash says this is not like him nurse joy says that things are tough for pokemon professors lately and elm tries to beg kris to reconsider she refuses and lika agrees to battle with pikachu beating elms corosola in one hit forcing elm to retract the offer and says he will be ok they register lika for the johto league as well and leave town.
