dave finds out he has torn his achilies muscle but isn’t out of the race yet. the first clue sends them to christchurch new zelland via pappiete and auckland they than must drive to the rakaia river george. dave/connor hope to stay in it but they will get the second express pass from jessica/john who will keep their word and play defense against the hockey dudes. the first flight to papiete carrying bates/anthony and jessica/john leaves right away. bates/anthony find that john rubs him the wrong way dave says he has to go to hospital before they continue they are on the 2nd flight to papiete with most of the other teams at 1135am. teams are excited about new zelland as well in papiete the airoprt is already pretty much closed so they can’t get tickets that day the next flight is at 8am tomarrow. pam/winnie are a flight behind to papiete not that that matters. dave is told about the tear in his achillies and is raptured but they are cleared to continue somehow but they need a medical boot among other things. the teams show sympathy for them. jessica/john form an alliance with joey/meaghen and mona/beth during the long wait for flights they want to take out bates/anthony but caroline/jennifer like them which is silly strategy. everyone is on the 8am flight to auckland. it is a mad dash for domestic pam/winnie are the only ones on a 5pm flight which gives them a lead after being last. jessica/john and mona/beth get the 530pm flight as are dave/connor and joey/meaghen. bates/anthony and caroline/jennifer get a 6pm flight. max/katie are worried about the alliance but get on through standby on 530pm. chuck/wynona waste time at the airport and end up on a 730pm flight that is really bad for them. teams grab their cars. pam/winnie are a bit lost finding the george. the country singers (caroline/jennifer) are leading the hockey dudes (bates/anthony) which is not the best idea. its a race to grab numbers for the boat tours dave/connor somehow get 1 jessica/john 2 joey/meaghen 3 max/katie 4, pam/winnie 5 (what a roller coaster), mona/beth 6, caroline/jennifer get confused finding 7, bates/anthony are 8, chuck/wynona are 9 getting the time. dave/connor enjoy the jet runner and get the detour clue which starts with using all terain vicheles to either ‘rev it up’ doing a course in a modified vantage car in under 83 seconds, ‘reel it in’ each team member must catch one fish each. dave/connor originally pick rev it up but switch when they realise its a manual the other team to choose the fish is chuck/wynona all the others do the car. john finds the driving easy while dave/connor consider the express pass. max uses more time than needed at the driving task and takes more time than needed. dave/connor use the express pass the next clue sends them to mount hutt station. jessica/john do well at the driving finishing the task in 2nd. with joey/meaghen next to finish. max/katie though fail the third attempt. pam/winnie are having car problems as other teams catch up. mona/beth make up time to 4th. as other teams can’t figure it out. dave/connor are confident on directions as are jessica/john. joey/meaghen also think they know but are wrong. bates/anthony finish in 5th at the detour. max is still having trouble at the task and they are on their 6th attempt but just get it in 6th. pam/winnie are 7th out of the detour. chuck/wynona are still fishing and wynona has trouble but gets one fish and are 8th out of the detour. the roadblock is racing through a muddy obstacle course known as a shamzzle connor obviously does it in the lead and delivering 12 eggs connor does really well at the task. other teams are lost finding mount hutt station. connor only gets 10 the first time as max/katie miss the place and are confused as they are lost. connor continues at the roadblock sending them to terrance downs the ‘pitstop’. as john starts the roadblock in 2nd place chuck does it in 4th with caroline/jennifer and pam/winnie starting at the same time. john only gets 4 the first time meaghen takes it as they and mona/beth turn up. jennifer is doing the roadblock. chuck does very well at the task. chuck only gets 4 winnie gets 5 john is at 8. max/katie have lost a ton of time and are now last katie takes it. john finishes in 2nd. dave/connor arrive 1st at terrance downs. winnie is 3rd to finish the task. jennifer in 4th. dave/connors prize is a trip to bangkok but can’t do the thai boxing part yet of the prize but the supprises aren’t over its a fake pitstop and they consider pulling out of the race.
