on redemption island franchesca is shocked to see matt as she didn’t expect any of robs allies so soon matt doesn’t know what happened and is quite upset. on omtepe rob and grant are quite happy at what happened and with every thing going right and tells phillip the main alliance. rob knows he needs to work to keep andrea on side. on redemption island treemail indicates the first duel and indicates the loser is out treemail for the tribes sends two people of each tribe to watch the duel david and steve are going for zapaterra to watch but david is glad that russell and his alliance didn’t go going for omtepe ashley and andrea. the duel ironically enough is a doover of the outcast challenge from pearl islands but individual. matt knows its do or die time franchesca wants to win. using a pole to grab keys is the challenge once you get 3 you unlock it you win. making the pole isn’t easy franchesca makes it first and gets the key the first one. matt fails the first time franchesca gets the 2nd one before matt gets one. matt is still sturggling as franchesca goes for the last key but its further out but her stick breaks as matt gets his first and gets his second closing in as they only need one more key and is close as matt struggles but is close as franchesca gets the key but drops it and matt gets the third key to win from behind sending franchesca home. franchesca is now out of the game completly as matt heads back to redemption island and is quite emotional. jeff tells the players about what they share. andrea tells omtepe that matt is upset about what happened. rob is worried about matt winning more duels so he works on keeping andrea loyal andrea is worried though. on zapaterra they lie about who won which is a bit over the top but they clarify it to the majority alliance. russell is worried about the numbers against him and his alliance but as the idol was found by ralph so theres no chance of him finding it so russell makes a fake idol and decides to have stephenie carry her bag to make them think it. steve is worried that russell has the idol and has him considering a big move. mike ralph and steve discuss throwing the challenge which is not a wise move in this season as against rob they would be worried. david is skecptical of the plan and julie is against the plan completly and thinks she can handle him. the challenge was seen last season three tribe members spin a wheel to spit water into a tube the difference this time is it gets a ball for a slide puzzle which they must solve the reward is a tarp and also immunity and comfort. david sticks with the throw the challenge zapatera sit out ralph and sarita. its david v rob on the puzzle as the tribes do well with the water. it is close on the water despite julie throwing it putting zapatera behind with steve wearing out. rob has a big lead on the puzzle. they finally get the ball but david is really slow when he would have probablly won if he wanted to. omtepe win easily on the puzzle as davids throwing the challenge. zapatera are sent to tribal . omtepe are estatic about winning but rob are worried about the idol and looks for the clue which is in the chair phillips sitting on and rob finds the clue. the idol is not obvious in the clue. on zapaterra russell is annoyed at his tribe throwing the challenge and has a good point about the fact that the numbers will hurt them later. the plan is to split the vote 3-3 between russell and stephenie. russells alliance is annoyed about the challenge they decide to get julie to flip. stephenie works on julie and julie says her chances are better with russell but doesn’t think its a good move. russell tries to confirm that plan. at tribal ralph says its good to be at tribal which makes no sense at all as the tribe is divided. steve says that it is 6-3 at this point and sarita blames russell for the division. russell says everyone preceives his legacy hurts him and tells them that the tribe did throw the challenge. some of the majority deny it falsely mike says they need to trim the flat. julie says it was a bad move as numbers matter. stephenie says the majority forget they are playing survivor and there will be backstabbing it leads to a fight with david. it was a critical challenge to lose at this point. steve says they did not throw the challenge (which is a lie) david says rob beat him at the puzzle which was not clear. the vote is a 3-3-3 tie between russell stephenie and ralph. the revote sends russell home for the first time ever (well at least to redemption island) 5-1-0.
next time phillip and ralph say too much and can russell stay in the game on redemption against a supprise oponent for him.
