ash and friends are back in pallet town to get ready for the pokemon league although ash sleeps in and is woken by pikachus electric shock while mr mime sweeps. ash decides to lie to his mum about where he will train next so he doesn’t have to do house work and is told to stop at the xanadu nursery on the way back which ash accidentlly finds. brock immediately falls in love with a girl he spots in the green house when they find out they have been spotted. bulbasaur smells a dangerous plant which the girl from earlier warns them about it and helps heal it she wants her gloom to evolve and is discouraged by her failed attempts gloom evolves with leaf stones but the ones they have are fake as professor oak figures that out and team rocket are sponsible for the fake ones and try and steal from the nursery but are beaten by ash and his friends as well as the workers at the nursery. it all ends well florinda the girl falls for the other worker instead of brock and all ends well.
