dees easily made the grand beating the pies who they had to play again who beat the roos who beat the lions in a massive boilover the pies remain the only team to do a 4 peat ending the dees run at 3 by 3 goals in a crazy grand final.

a return to finals supprised many since their 1950 runners up it was their first appearence and one of the worse percentages ever for a finalist 92.7 partly from a 20 goal loss to the lions first up and a round 3 loss to the dees hurt their percentage round 4 loss o dogs than a 10 goal loss to the hawks had them 11th with a awful percentage it took till round 8 for a good margin win (3rd in a row of 6) before losing to lions in round 12 which was the next time they dropped out of the 4 getting it back the next week but losing it in round 16 and holding off the dons for 4th in round 17. beat the lions in the semi but lost to pies in the prelim.
